Fish Oil / Omega 3 Fatty Acids

As a Chiropractor, I am often asked from my patients... "What vitamins should I be taking ?"

My answer is usually dependent on what that particular patient is looking for in their healthcare and their individual condition and age. But, I always make sure that if you are taking no other vitamins and supplements --> please take daily fish oil / omega 3 fatty acids.  There are numerous studies that show fish oil / omega 3 fatty acids help the body reduce inflammation, reduce cholesterol, improve brain and nerve function, improve the immune system, and the list goes on.

So what, when and how ?  Take at least 3,000 mg of fish oil / omega 3 fatty acids daily with meals (less after taste that way). As far as which brand is best, I don't know if the $10 bottle is better than the $50 bottle.  But do look for this information on the label: the oil should be processed with mollecular distillation to remove any mercury, the oil should contain the following omega 3 fatty acids --> EPA, DHA, GLA, ALA
